If you're trying to do version 1.0 of the ASIO4ALL driver, be careful - I needed to do it the hard way and have problems every step of the way, and am never going to use that again as it doesn't work properly. At all. Anyway, if your results are anything like mine, you'll find that when you turn it on, it claims that the hardware is working (presumably because you have *some* level on your meters, even if they're all zeroed), then when you plug a source into the USB port, the sound calms down the meters (thus showing that it's heard something) and changes to an error. If you capture that error, you can investigate the log file and see what's going on at that point. You may need to reinstall the driver in the same way if you've been upgrading - it seems to randomly go into an error state and need a reinstall.

After some dicey trials, I was eventually able to get it working. I will try to write some instructions up later. But I just wanted to say that these drivers are really rubbish, and there's no point trying them if the hardware isn't working. They do work for some budget hardware, but not for the Behringer UMC22 where I've been trying to use them.

What a pain! I've installed ubuntus driver and it's fine. But when I reboot it it says error starting the operating system. I can't get anything to work on my Behringer umc22! When I place headphones on the usb plug it makes the computer shake. I do not have the drivers installed via the Behringer page. d2c66b5586
