Hop Farm 2013: Last year saw promoter Vince Power's flagship event cancelled due to low ticket sales, which was blamed in part on the festival economy, while others suggested the line-up lacked the pulling power of previous years. There are currently two different Hop Farm festivals taking place in 2014, and this summer will be a true testing ground on whether there is a future in this once glorious event.
Isle of Man Festival 2013: The Isle of Wight Festival's less cool cousin, this festival was never even staged, after poor ticket sales forced its first event in 2013 to be cancelled. Also the promoters blamed sales, saying: \"If tickets don't sell, they don't sell and artists can't get paid\". The punters blamed the line-up, which was incredibly poor, banking on the likes of Loveable Rogues to pull in a crowd. No thanks.
Sonisphere, 2012: The year that Queen and Kiss were due to headline also turned out to be the hardest in the festivals history with organizers blaming a \"weak economy\", as they cancelled the event, disappointing thousands of UK rock and metal fans. It also missed its 2013 event. However, the festival has made a blazing return in 2014, boasting headliners including The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica.
The Big Chill, 2011: Recently bought out by Festival Republic, The Big Chill gained a huge injection of cash in 2011 that saw its capacity double and huge headliners come on board including Kanye West. However with only half the tickets being sold the losses were huge resulting in the hiatus that the festival is now enjoying.
As well as the headliners, the Magic Summer Live 2013 line-up so far includes James Morrison, Joss Stone, Squeeze, Level 42, Soul II Soul, The Overtones and Codicote singer Kim Wilde, with more acts to be announced. 59ce067264
