Ok, so I finally stuck my foot down and insisted my wife move to Linux. We had a nightmare trying to get it to work. I've spent the last few weeks fighting this. I finally installed Linux and decided try Ubuntu. WOW!, That was a terrible way to have to spend my first hour of using Linux. With Windows there are almost always several programs installed that do the same or similar things, so the learning curve is very low. But with Linux, there are almost no programs that I can use. I have to try and find and install programs where I don't have a readymade alternative. Also, I want my wife to be able to navigate Windows the way she is used to. With Linux it is totally different, there are two ways to do almost anything. So, I try to have learned how to use a program by the time I try to teach her how to use it.
