If you have a stereo clap, you can use your multi-tap EQ to achieve a wider spectrum of output. I'll use an EQ with a couple of Qs on it. A long, narrow Q is usually best for the lower frequencies. A longer, wider Q is better for the mid-range.
Recreational clap rolls will almost always be in stereo, at least if you are using a single instrument that sounds like a real clap. Imagine a real hand clapping alongside you. The clap will likely wrap around the sides of the room, and it may even be louder on one side or the other, depending on the size of the room and the distance from the sound source.
Open/close claps Like a handclap, open and close claps will almost always be in stereo. If you record a single instrument that sounds like a real clap, the clap will almost always be mono. Imagine a real hand clapping alongside you. The clap will wrap around the sides of the room, and it may even be louder on one side or the other, depending on the size of the room and the distance from the sound source.
Even though clap rolls are essentially mono, they can be used to emulate a stereo clap. I'll usually start my clap rolls at a high Q. A shorter, narrower Q is usually better for the lower frequencies. The longer, wider Q is better for the mid-range. It is almost impossible to record more than one instrument at a time, even if you stack it over a mono instrument.
When mixing headroom, you want to make sure that you leave room for all the frequencies to be heard in the stereo space. Thicker reverb or chorus in the higher frequencies can help with creating the sense of space in your mix.
To avoid unwanted balancing/correlation issues, always keep in mind to use Stereo Analyzer that will show you how wide is the stereo for the individual drums. There are plenty of plugins that can help you with that. For instance, you can go and buy A.O.M. Stereo Imager, or you can get a FREE plugin like Izotope Imager 2 or great Flux Stereo Tool v3.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
