Besides the improvements mentioned above, we can see that each module has also been upgraded. For instance, the multiband compressor has been upgraded to the new Neutron, while the Exciter has been upgraded from the original, Alloy 2 equivalent, which would have been the Baxandall. This update improves the Exciter's saturation more, and it has been added to the Multiband compressor, creating an Exciter/compressor module.
There is also a phase inversion module, but it's used for the second compressor, while the first is an echo enhancer that has been improved. That module is based on the original Saturator and is a white noise generator with an echo/delay mechanism. It is important to note that, as with Alloy 2, you can use the Saturator as a limiter, but it has a distinct hard-clip feature.
Delving further still, Neutron now has a GATE-style audio mixer. This is the primary module with the ability to connect multiple input and output sections and mix them all together. It's also been improved with the ability to process audio in a stereo pair and vice versa.
One of the biggest changes is the removal of the Transient Shaper, which was originally called the Peak Limiter. This module was added in the first version of Neutron, and it essentially acts as a limiter with an algorithm that works for limiting the peaks of the input signal to a certain amount of level. If your input peaks are higher than this threshold, then they're effectively attenuated or squashed to a lower level. This mode also provides a form of compression.
iZotope Carbon is a collection of eight plug-ins for the Mac that bring the T-Pain Effect Bundle to Mac. iZotope Carbon features a core module with an oscillator, compressor, delay, flanger, and two reverbs. The core module also includes an EQ, a gain, a mixer and an optional distortion. Not all effects may be available in all programs.
After extracting the MAC address, you can match it against the Mac models that are known to have the issue. Open the Mac OS Help website. Click the Search your Mac button to search by model and serial number. Select the OS Version section, then Products section. The list should show a row of problems including your Mac serial number. If the serial number matches, select the View button. The Recover button will take you to the find and replace screen where you can replace the serial number in the Mac's model data. It is also possible to extract the serial number without having to run the Terminal command above.
Please note that this is not the same as the Mac's hardware address. The hardware address is a 16-bit hexadecimal code, which is the number of the physical Ethernet interface in your Mac. If your Mac is plugged into several Ethernet ports, several numbers will be returned.
You can make the model list accessible from your Mac's Finder menu by opening System Preferences > About This Mac and clicking the More Info… button. Find the Model Identifier 827ec27edc
