Slam, which only gets unlocked in the mid-game, fills in one of the only major gaps in Miranda's kit: lack of a true disabling power. There's really no need to invest more than the single point Slam automatically gets; this leaves another full 10 points available to max out Cerberus Officer, one of the strongest class passives in the game, buffing the health and weapon damage of the entire party. This bonus layers with the additional damage an ammo power provides. Pairing Miranda with a party member that can combo with her Warp is generally desirable; Jacob is a natural choice early on and his Incendiary Ammo makes the two a good pairing throughout the game.
The Crew 2, an online only game, has no inherent multiplayer at all. It has a co-op mode, but it's only available if you play with friends you've established outside of the game. Up to four of you can group together as a "crew" and take on its scant co-op challenges. That's it.
The Crew 2 is a bit of a lackluster experience, as we noted in our review. There's fun to be had, but the writing and story need help, as do the multiplayer aspects. That same feeling of "this could be better" applies to the game engine in general. It's 2018 and many games have proven (repeatedly) that it's possible and even beneficial to run at higher framerates. "No," says The Crew 2, "you will be content with 60fps max." It was a problem in the original as well, and it's particularly irksome considering how many other games Ubisoft publishes where the framerate is unlocked. It's also unintentionally ironic for a game that's all about speed to put in a hard speed limit.
The engine can successfully deal with everything from 20 to 60 fps; why can't that same programming logic be applied to going beyond 60fps? This is a 'solved' probem by now, as numerous other games have demonstrated an ability to scale to arbitrarily high framerates. We have 144Hz and even 240Hz displays, and I'd love to see how The Crew 2 feels on such a setup. We've also had 120Hz and higher refresh rate LCD monitors for nearly a decade, and 120Hz CRTs before that. There's no good excuse for 60fps caps. But let's get to the settings and performance before I continue that rant.

Commentary: Live Xtrem Series are special show tournaments, during which drivers switch to different vehicles at certain points (from a truck to a boat, for example). The first part of the tournament takes place right after the game begins. The remaining four parts are unlocked alongside the progress in the game. The fifth episode becomes available after you unlock the Icon status. Apart from that, you also have to complete the Grand Finale (achievement: That's a Wrap!).
FTL: Faster Than Light is an extremely deep game. With a whole range of ship systems and sectors of space to explore, there are all kinds of strategies players can employ to reach their destination. To lean into this idea, the game has ten different ships that players can use on their journey. Other than the Kestrel Cruiser, unlocked at the start of the game, each has its own specialty and is optimized for a specific style of play.
Updated on January 20th, 2022 by Hodey Johns: The enduring love for FTL is one that gamers still carry on. The reverence for the short game with a permadeath system that blends random encounters and player choice is a lasting one. After advanced editions and re-releases, it's clear the game is here to stay. Perhaps one of the elements of the magic is the game's brutal difficulty. Players will look up strategy after strategy only to fail when the answer might be staring them in the face all along; switch ships! This guide has been updated with fresh information and a breakdown of how to unlock the B and C layouts as well.
Unlocking this ship is a simple but difficult feat. When exploring a Rebel Stronghold Sector, traveling to any regular beacon may land the player in a "huge rebel shipyard." Looking around, the players will encounter a second Rebel Flagship mid-construction. This ship is a weaker version of the game's final boss, but it is still a very tough opponent. Defeating it or killing all of its crew will earn many resources and unlock the Federation Cruiser.
The Mantis are just what they sound like, aliens that look like Praying Mantis. They are brutally efficient in hand-to-hand combat, and their ships play to this strength. All of their ships feature a teleporter that allows the Mantis crew to attack the enemy crew directly on their ship. Use it well and it makes FTL one of the best Indie games on Game Pass.
The ship will attempt to flee when they get to low enough health. The player must let them escape. Follow the fleeing ship to a new quest marker. They will congratulate the crew on their victory, and the Rock Cruiser will be unlocked.
Gamers will first have to unlock layout B before getting the C layout. Not just that, they'll have to use layout B and have a very successful run with it. By taking a ship with layout B to sector 8, gamers will get the final layout, C, unlocked.
Yep! All you need to do is participate in The Crew 2 open beta to unlock a special Gold Helmet for your player avatar in the full game. The reward will be bound to your Ubisoft Club account, so make sure you use the right one while playing. Oh, and US citizens who reach at least Fame Level 2 could qualify for a contest to win a real-life motorcycle - the terms and conditions are here.
